Note for the site owner: this page is a starting template that came with the software, not legal advice. It describes how this software handles data, but it does not know your country, your organisation or your obligations. Have it reviewed, edit it to match what you actually do, and then delete this paragraph.
These terms cover this website and the members area on it, both operated by Riverside Alumni. Using either means accepting them.
Membership
Membership is open to former students of the institution this association serves. Registration asks for truthful information, and applications are reviewed before they are approved. We may decline or withdraw a membership where the information given turns out to be untrue.
Your account
Your account is yours alone. Keep the password to yourself, and tell us at [the association's contact email address] if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
The member directory
The directory exists so former classmates can find each other. It is not a mailing list. Using it to send bulk marketing, to recruit for commercial schemes, to harass anyone, or to build a list for use elsewhere is a misuse of it, and accounts that do so are closed.
What you post
You keep ownership of anything you upload, and you give us permission to display it on this site. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and do not upload anything unlawful, abusive, or deliberately misleading. We may remove content that breaks this, and we will normally tell you why.
Photographs of other people
Old photographs often show people who never agreed to be online. If someone asks to have a picture of themselves removed, we will remove it, and we will not ask them to justify the request.
Donations
Where the site invites donations, the purpose of the appeal is stated at the time. Donations are voluntary and are not refundable except where the law requires it.
Availability
We try to keep the site running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or always be correct. Where the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it.
Ending your membership
You may close your account whenever you wish. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will explain why when we do.
Changes
These terms may change. The current version is always the one on this page, and material changes will be announced to members.
