Our story
Milestones
1966
The doors open
Riverside College opens in a converted grain mill on the east bank with 140 students, eleven teachers and a library that fits in one room.
1969
The first class leaves
Ninety-two students make up the first graduating class. Their photograph on the mill steps starts a tradition that has not missed a year since.
1974
Riverside Hall
The Hall is finished after a four-year appeal to local families. It becomes the home of assemblies, examinations, dances and, later, every reunion.
1976
The association is founded
Twenty-three former students meet in the Hall and agree a constitution on two sides of paper. The annual subscription is the price of a cup of tea.
