In June 1976, eighty-one students stood on the Hall steps for their class photograph. Last month, fifty years later, forty-one of them stood there again.
It took Graham Pettifer, the batch representative, two years and a great many phone calls to find them. Some were three streets away; one was on a ship off the coast of Norway and joined by video from the bridge.
"We tried to stand in the same order," says Nkechi Obi, "and then we realised half of us could not remember where we had stood, and the other half were sure they had been in the front row." The new photograph is in the gallery, next to the old one.
